Skål International Kvarner was founded in 2010. in Opatija, currently has 32 active member, and act within the international tourism association Skål International.

The first Skål International Club was founded in 1932 in Paris by travel managers, following an educational tour of Scandinavia. The idea of international goodwill and friendship grew and, in 1934, the “Association Internationale des Skål Clubs” was formed by Florimond Volckaert as who became  its first President,  and is considered to be the “Father of Skål”.

Skål International unite all branches of the travel and tourism industry with a mission to promote global tourism, professionalism and friendship among the tourism leaders around the world. Organisation acts in 400 Clubs throughout over 90 countries in the world with the slogan…

Kvarner as tourism destination will be hosting Skål International World Congress 2020, which would take place in Opatija and Rijeka, under the slogan “SKÅL CONGRESS IN THE EUROPEAN CAPITAL OF CULTURE 2020”.
